That starts with establishing a clear roadmap that connects technology to both clinical and business goals. It also means building alignment across leadership, physicians, and staff ensuring everyone is moving in the same direction. 

From there, you create a secure, stable, and scalable foundation that can truly support growth. Only once that foundation is in place does it make sense to add new tools because at that point, your investments actually deliver the outcomes vendors promise on the conference floor.

So before you sign on the dotted line after your next conference, pause. Ask yourself:

  • Are we buying this because it solves a core issue, or because it’s new and exciting?
  • Do we have the clarity, alignment, and stability to make this tool successful?
  • Would our money be better spent building a strategy first?

The practices that thrive are not the ones with the most tools. They’re the ones with the clearest direction.
